Ya it does end at a dead end but at that end you get an awesome closeup view of St. Helens and Spirit Lake. Hwy 20 sounds good to me tho.

Hwy 7. I heard that was an awesome route for a spirited ride. Anyone know?

I just rode hwy 7 yesterday and it has some pretty awesome twisties between eatonville and alder lake, but if your down there in the afternoon on the weekends there is a shit-ton of cager traffic. But its a good well paved road.

hmm seems as if there are two plans. I can only do one of them. Lets pick one of the rides for this weekend and the other ride for 2 weekends away. North Cascades might be a little chilly on Sunday. Not sure about weather for the St. Helens trip Saturday

Ya, Saturday looks like its gonna be warmer than Sunday, I'm down for both rides, but that might be pushing it for everyone... Whatever you guys want to do is cool with me. I already commited to the St Helens ride on Saturday with my friend so I'm definitely going on that and I can meet up with whoever is interested on Saturday.

Edit: North Cascades hwy weather forcast looks decent for Sunday, mostly sunny w/ high of 58.
Spirit Lake Hwy forcast for Saturday: partly Sunny w/ high of 79

ok, I'm down for Sunday, going to pass on Saturday. We might want to consider leaving a bit later as we don't want to hit the higher elevations too early (it will be cold).

Are we just riding over SR 20 to Winthrop then coming back the same way? Or are we doing the loop and coming back over Blewett? (I HIGHLY suggest doing US 97 between US 2 and I-90. I scoped it out in the car last weekend and it was in pristine shape. 1 year old pavement with no pebbles, dirt, or anything in the road, more than ample passing/2 lane)

EDIT: My suggested route http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&encTyp...428D608826!222

Now that the decision is made I'm out. :P
Sorry, I've had a planned ride down to St. Helens on Sunday the 28th for six weeks now.
Hope to ride with you all soon.

Hey man what exactly did you get done to your bike and how much was it? I'm just wondering cuz I'm approaching the 15k mark and I need to get it in for a full tune up.

I had dropped off the bike for its 8k service. I didn't pay anything because I bought the prepaid service package when I bought the bike. They are taking care of all service until 16k. After that I am on my own.
