Smile Superslushpuppys Snow forecast

Forwarded from my powder alert.

Quality Dumpage Ahead

Powder Alert for Wednesday and Thursday. Sunday/Monday too!

Deep, Cold Smoke Powder
Wednesday a system from the north will cause snow to fall in the mountains. It will be light, high quality and deep. Bundle up for extremely cold conditions. You might even want a face mask. Wind chills will be below zero. Temps will be in the teens and single digits even below zero in the morning. Mountain snow fall will be 8 -14. The quality doesnt get much better than this. Only challenge might be some thin spots in the early season coverage- so watch for those.

Sunday a new system will move in and with another round of fantastic quality snow. Its early to tell, but another 4 8 is possible. Again, expect snow in the lowlands too.
Next Monday could be the day if the snow comes in late Sunday.

Each one of these storms adds to the snowpack and we will see more areas open up more runs. Opening day at Stevens, on Thursday (check website) could be EPIC!
Crystal, Mission and Baker are open and they will all have fantastic conditions on Wednesday and especially Thursday. I favor Thursday.

Another Powder Alert!

December 29th 2008

Issued 5:17 PM

Beautimas Maximus Dumpage

Ya can’t miss this week…
Pick your day, but don’t pick your nose and miss this one.
Get movin’ make some turns…

Powder Alert: Tuesday AM, Wednesday Day, Early Thursday and Early Friday

A healthy jet stream is pointed at us with a cool, moist westerly flow and a series of increasingly strong storms. This pattern is optimum for wonderful Cascade snow. Snow levels will generally be low, with good to excellent quality. Don’t expect snow near sea level – so we are done with the lowland Seattle snowfall for now. Recent mountain snowfall has improved bases and opened up more runs – now let the powder fall!

There will be a higher snow level, late on Thursday for a short time, recovering quickly with a 1500ft snow level on Friday morning - producing possible epic powder conditions in the morning.

Timing and magnitude may vary a little, but it looks fantastic all week. Wind could be a problem later Thursday.

Here’s the powder program, if you are keeping score:

Tuesday morning: 1500ft snow level. 5-10” new, need I say more ? More snow in convergence zone central Cascades. Some clearing in the morning, possible bluebird areas in the morning at a few locations – fantastic views and light dry snow.

Wednesday: Epic Day! Snowing all day with 6-12”new in the morning and additional 4- 7” during the day. Bring your goggles and hooded jacket. Expect powder skiing all day, filling in your tracks. Snow levels 1500-2500ft. Good quality.
We all love a big dump.

HAPPY NEW YEAR -- Thursday & Friday: The Epic continues…. A pause in the morning on Thursday. There could be some great leftover snow and powder pockets. Snow increases by=2 0afternoon, then it snows all night. Snow level starts at 2000 - 3000ft on Thursday, but rises in the afternoon and night to 3000-4500ft for about 5-10 hours, dropping by Friday. It’s cutting close, but the snow levels should drop to 1500ft by Friday morning with 8-13” of new. Timing may be a problem, but there is epic potential for Friday morning, if the timing works out.

Get out there now, pattern may change next middle of next week.

I am quitting my job and skiing every day. Eat desert first. Max out the credit cards. Buy a red sports car. Marry the secretary…..sorry I lost it, I’ll save desert for last – but everything else is a go.

More snow on Saturday.

Happy New Year
